About the Inner Movement

The Inner Movement is a registered community interest company who serves the North west Leicestershire community by providing therapy services for those who require treatment for mental health issues.

With Professor Paul Gilbert OBE (Founder of Compassion Focused Therapy, Researcher) at the Compassionate Mind Therapist Conference 2020

Here at the Inner Movement we build upon the work of Professor Paul Gilbert and the compassionate mind foundation to offer compassionate interventions for mental health in the North West Leicestershire area

The Compassionate Mind Foundation was founded as an international charity in 2006 by Professor Paul Gilbert and colleagues including Prof Deborah Lee, Dr Mary Welford, Dr Chris Irons, Dr Ken Goss, Dr Ian Lowens, Dr Chris Gillespie, Diane Woollands and Jean Gilbert.

We believe that one of the greatest challenges facing humanity is how to stimulate compassionate ways of thinking and problem solving for the benefit of all.

The Compassionate Mind Foundation promotes an evolutionary and bio-psycho-social informed approach to compassion which now forms the basis of a psychotherapy (CFT) and Compassionate Mind Training.

The last 15 years have seen an expanding evidence base for a compassion focused approach to the alleviation of mental health difficulties and promoting wellbeing. It is now being used internationally in various settings including hospitals, prisons, schools and businesses.

"The Inner Movement has taught me that recovering from complex trauma doesn’t have to be all tears and talking. it taught me the science behind trauma in the body, how it affects the nervous system, and that connecting with my body and hearing what is has to say can actually be a fast track to recovery. So thank you."
"I went to a workshop today and it was a breath of fresh in a very confusing time.
Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. And it was very informative.
I look forward to taking part in future workshops and activities."
"Fantastic Experience.
Dylan really helped me through a difficult time in my life and helped me change my perspective. Over a period of 12 years I had seen multiple therapists to address issues relating to anxiety, depression and marital issues. With invariably unsatisfying results, I had lost hope. I was utterly pessimistic about the possibility of being happy. I can honestly say my sessions with Dylan changed this and I have finally been able to uncover and rewrite some of the deeply embedded patterns of negativity. I can't recommend him enough!"
